    I'm inclined to reinstate it. Maybe we do need a policy that all bots need to include contact info for their owner (and perhaps that owner must have a non-bot TC account as well, as this one does)?

    ...but I definitely want to hear from y'all. (I see one reply to the OP already; will await more feedback.)

    I 100% endorse the notion that bot accounts should be marked as such (this is sort of principle 0 & not very controversial I think) but also that they should have contact info for their admin.

    Bans get one into the quagmire of policing them. Saying the person who provisioned them is responsible for what they do and needs to be reachable should concerns arise seems well & right.
