Involved from the sidelines in a volunteering project and reviewing their website. It’s made by a developer who has switched to “vibe coding”.
Me and the other contributors have now spent maybe twice as much time pointing out VERY OBVIOUS issues (both with the code, design, and copy) than it would have taken me to code it all from scratch without gen AI.
But sure, ✨ it’s the future ✨
Also I had originally suggested I could make the website but was told by the other person that I wasn’t allowed cause they knew better “because they’re an actual designer and developer” (as if I’m not????) and then they used Claude to vibe design and code the entire website and it’s full of mistakes. :elmo_fire:

Also yes, it sucks that your and others volunteer time is being eaten up by this person's hubris and arrogance.

In the short term you may be right but in the long term it's definitely the future and many professions like yours and similar will be transformed by that or gone, at least if we don't got into another world war and after that living like in the stone age...😅
