My use case is calling an external API to get the live price of financial assets so LibreOffice can calculate "this many dollars is that many units." You can do this in Google Sheets or by manually installing a LibreOffice plugin off GitHub but you should also be able to reference an external website with the live data and that feature of LibreOffice seems broken.
