    Under the Digital Services Act (DSA), platforms accessible to children and teens must ensure a high level of privacy, safety, and security.

    Our preliminary findings show that TikTok fails to meet this standard, exposing children and teens to risks including unwanted contact, cyberbullying, or predatory behaviour.

    If our preliminary findings are confirmed, TikTok could be issued with a fine of up to 6% of its total global annual turnover.

    @EUCommission So it's possible to regulate and enforce without ban :)

    No ban or chat control is needed. There are plenty mechanism to enforce and follow the laws and rules.

    We need to start to learn how to leave again as society. Not in social networks bubbles...
    Once Plato mention that we leave the cave to see the light, but now is only shadows, walls, etc . The new cave ...

    So full of shadowcasters, etc.

    @EUCommission There are no "children" or "teens", there are "young customers".
    Got that subtility between human and consumer for US corps AND some EU corps too you work with ?

    Just forget any kind of humanity, that's just money. The tomorrow's consumer is what you call "children" and "teen". It's good to target big ones like tiktok the press talk about, but nothing about the other MAGAs (and EU corporations), including the ones you pay for to run Teams™ or PowerPoint™ 🤔

    What about platforms accessible to ALL to be covered also by high standards requirements? It's not just children who are finding current situation blatantly lacking privacy, safety and security.

    @EUCommission Discord Inc should be added to the list of VLOPs. Discord is a chat application reaching about a hundred million EU users. Discord Inc is grossly neglecting privacy laws, by giving users access to bots, which are widely used without any regards to the GDPR. Furthermore, Discord Inc does not intervene on requests regarding GDPR.

    The Dutch Data Protection Authority is the authority regarding privacy for Discord Inc. Given public information and transparency reports of the authority, it fails to ensure company compliance to laws. DDPA is delaying and ignoring complaints, seemingly due to the mass of complaints they receive.

    @EUCommission Seems odd to make a website responsible instead of parents. I guess your constituents would be unhappy with you of you implied THEY had responsibility for their own children.

    @mimblewimble Hi! Parents absolutely have a responsibility for their children. The DSA doesn’t replace that role, it makes sure platforms also take responsibility for the environments they create and the risks their design choices may expose children to. Protecting children online is a shared responsibility.
