    Using xev on the command line, I see something when I press fn keys on the built-in keyboard, but nothing when I press other keys:

    MappingNotify event, serial 41, synthetic NO, window 0x0,
    request MappingKeyboard, first_keycode 8, count 248

    Time to dig into BIOS settings on my #thinkPad

    I am running a Lenovo hardware diagnostic. The Fn keys seemed to be the only ones that worked on the onboard keyboard. One hoir down one to go
