I wonder why still so many movies are shared as DivX and MPEG 2 and in sizes of 700 and 1400 MB. I mean other than old movies that simply haven't been converted.
I can think of two reasons:
- "That's what I've always used." / To keep a uniform collection.
- Because they are used on devices that can't play h.264 and newer formats.
I wonder how many of these devices are still in use. I'm thinking of outside of rich Europe. I really don't know. This may be the only tech available to more people than I realised.
