    There's the horrible iOS style NSAlert on Mac. I could probably go on and on if I thought about it for a while.

    The Mac has become more and more like iOS over the years, even if you're using AppKit!

    And how many new native Mac apps have AppleScript support, for example? That used to be pretty standard, now it's practically nonexistent.

    There's no "resurgence" of AppleScript. There's only Shortcuts, which is a half-baked, limited, iOS-style successor.

    @lapcatsoftware 💯. I realize this might not be something typical users care about, but as someone who uses AppleScript on a regular basis, the absence of it feels glaringly un-Mac-like.

    And Shortcuts, which I also use on a regular basis (and mostly like, albeit more the concept than the execution) has never come close to being a replacement.

    @lapcatsoftware I’ve got a dev branch of Octavo with AppleScript support. Not found time to finish/ship it yet, too much other low hanging fruit, but maybe someday…
