@msw ... complex non-linear systems dynamics have always fascinated me. Thinking of the space of system state and energy levels to operate, and if any of those states in multidimensional space are "stable" e.g. have no further lower energy level. For me it brings back H∞ control (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-infinity_methods_in_control_theory) with the downside being you need a good model of the system. So you're back to "Engineers don't build detailed models unless they absolutely need to."
