Massively more code churn; massively more incidents and outages; massively more bugs.
"ai"-produced code is low quality and prolix, and causes problems. Adding features is worthless when it comes with this cost.
"The engineers with the deepest knowledge of the system are spending their most valuable hours unraveling plausible-looking code that should never have reached them in the state it did."
Combine this with the hiring pipeline being completely broken - seriously, when's the last time you saw a junior get hired? - and we're going to run the fuck out of seniors.
And the bugs will keep accelerating.

Jun 12, 2026, 5:05 PM@munin it's almost like, even discounting every other problem ethical legal or otherwise (of which there are many), the practice of "throw the AI at it, replace your brain" is exactly as bad an idea as it sounds
@munin amazing that this report does not make the logical conclusion: at minimum, you should use AI more sparingly.
