    You get over the philosophical issue of the teleporter killing you pretty easy if you just ride it like 100 times. Oh it kills and rebuilds me? Whatever once you do it enough you’re so removed from the issue it’s just noise.

    @fillertrack@slime.global this reminds me of the game mechanic in the board game Space Alert (New Frontier expansion) where your character sheet has a checkbox at the bottom which reads "I consent to be cloned."

    If the box is not checked, you earn bonus experience points on every flight! But once you check that box, there's no going back -- you get revived after any failed flight, but you don't get that bonus exp anymore. It's explained in-universe as "you're just not as motivated by the fear of death anymore."

    It's perfectly legitimate to do a few flights for the early bonus exp and
    then consent to be cloned, once you're attached to the character. But you can't do it mid-flight, you have to do it back at base, because otherwise how are they going to take your DNA sample?
