well as a workaround for i guess everything i forgot that wsl exists. I also now maybe mistakenly requested a mac laptop.

I truthfully do not know what is better. Technically wsl can get a de/wm working with gpu acceleration, but it's still spyware all the way down.

I haven't touched macos for many years. I assume it isn't completely terrible and is still unix-like enough to treat it like a terminal + web browser for the most part.
