I didn’t say you cannot read it — esp if you are a reporter and need to see what your subjects are posting — but participating in it, which is largely performative, is bullshit. It does not help you get more audience — it never did, btw. If you want that, you are better off on LinkedIn. I stopped posting years ago and had more than 1.5 million followers, so it would have cost me more than most and it simply did not cost a thing. I have grown all my media offerings without it easily.
