May 9, 2026, 4:28 PMI feel like WAP went past too quickly. While I did use it a few times just to check it out, it was at a time where I was too young too have any money for internet, let alone expensive GSM kilobytes.
Now WAP seems to be dead. I don't know of any live site. Or even a browser that supports it.
Is there a retro community that hosts WAP sites?
Is there an archive of old WAP sites?
May 9, 2026, 4:31 PMWML might be an interesting set of limitations today where many people are dissatisfied with rich set of features of the modern #web and how they are used. I know there are very different opinions on which features we could do without (no JS, limit JS, XHTML, CSS2, parts of CSS3, …) and introducing another choice that's even incompatible with web technologies probably isn't helping the issue. But it might be interesting to play with.

For a brief time, WAP data was unlimited for me... Not that there was that much to DO with it. 😄

Later, it was a 5MiB/month allotment.
