Friends, I have £1,000 that I want to donate to a UK trans support charity.
I've donated in the past, but I was hoping someone (with experience) could recommend a charity that they think would benefit from the donation (and helped you in some way).
It's a single donation to make a greater impact.

@rem Thank you for considering them! Their free exercise classes for trans people have literally made me the person I am today (with a lot of the friends I have today too!)

@rem there's a group called the Squirrel Friends Transgender Network, that support online. The staff all work for free, but want to set it up as a full counselling service for people x
@rem I think donating to every person looking for mutual aid would be kinder than an organization
@MamaLake someone suggested a mutual aid fund, I'll be checking it out.
@rem Besides the suggestions in the replies, there's also Anne Health (https://anne.health/), a non-profit gender-affirming healthcare provider, if you're heard of F1NN5TER (Jude), he helped create it by providing some funding, and with the recent Christmas fundraiser has raised a whopping £40K for the non-profit.
@rem If you are a UK taxpayer yourself, donating to a registered charity and using Gift Aid gets the charity more money.
@annehargreaves I am, and that's exactly the plan. I'll also check how the charities are run through the public records (ie. I tend to prefer well established *and* could actually benefit from the donation, rather than being a drop in the ocean)

@rem Mermaids has been a big help for my family. They run online & face-to-face groups, which are only open to families that have been individually vetted. They've been a good source of support and information for us to better support our trans teen.

@rem You can always donate to the J.K Rowling crowdfunded assassination campaign. Every little helps.
@rem Trans Actual ( @transactualuk ) feel like they’re doing effective reporting and legal work in the vein of the 2000s Press for Change.
I would 100% NOT suggest Mermaids, the seemingly default choice. I still maintain they’re a charity for the parents of trans kids, not trans kids themselves.
