I'd really like it if fewer of my fellow white people would refer to the deaths of Venezuelan sailors, Palestinians, and Syrians as "distractions" from anything.

Are we meant to be distracted? Of course, and from a Great Many Things, not only from files, or other domestic evils. These atrocities do not exist Solely within that context, and to frame them that way is not only reductive, but extremely harmful.

Many things can be true at once. This administration's guilt is broad-spectrum.
