Oct 24, 2025, 2:27 AMI just placed an order for two more olive tree saplings. The first is a Spanish variety called 'Arbosana.' It is hardy down to 10°F once it is established. The fruit is said to make excellent brined olives. The second variety originates from Italy and is called 'Ascolana.' It is also hardy down to 10°F once it's established. The Ascolana olive is used to make a signature Italian snack called "olive all’ascolana" where the olives are pitted, stuffed with a seasoned meat, then battered, and fried!
I ordered them from One Green World, located in war-ravaged Portland, Oregon.
