Er fiskeri populær i Danmark?
If so, what species of fisk do danskere usually try to catch?
Tak!

Et spørgsmål --
I think (hope) I wrote, "My beets look healthy."
Though, in English, I would more likely write "My beets are looking healthy."
How would most danskere comment on the appearance of something like this?
"My beets look healthy" eller "My beets are looking healthy."
Tak!
I haven't planted a Fall garden since the early 1990s and since the climate in Western Oregon is so different, now, most of the old guidelines on timing don't work, anymore. 🙁
I'm preparing this little bed for lettuce, beets, chard, and carrots. Way back when, I could have done this in early to mid-August.
We'll see what happens.
When I see little seedlings of native trees along our fence lines that are in danger of getting mowed or cut by the county, I attempt to relocate them to a safe area on our land.
This is an incense cedar (Calocedrus decurrens), which is the second most common, native coniferous tree (behind the Douglas fir) within a 10 kilometer radius of us.
I think that as the climate continues drying out and heating up in the Upper Willamette Valley, this is an ideal tree to be planting for wooded areas along the edges of our valleys. As you can see on the map below (from Wikipedia), we are on the northern edge of its current range.
To me, the only downside of this species is that it grows VERY slowly. By the time it's as tall as I am, I'll be sporting adult diapers. That's okay, though. I'm playing the long game.
Plant some, soon!
Are there any good online text translators, out there, that work similarly to 'Google Translator' but are not developed or owned by imperialistic, surveillance-state corporations?
Thanks! 😀

Do you have any recommendations for companies that sell high-quality, non-digital weather thermometers?

Old English Plant Names
Most plant names in modern English have Latin (or other Romance language) influences. However, a small number of modern English plant names still retain a form of an old Germanic suffix, -el (from the languages of the early medieval Saxons and Angles).
netele - nettle
bremel - bramble
tæsel - teasel
þistel - thistle
mistel - misteltoe
hæsel - hazel

This afternoon, I was thinking of all the beer historians and home brewers that used to be active in the Fediverse, whom then moved on to blueskyer pastures.
I just placed an order for two more olive tree saplings. The first is a Spanish variety called 'Arbosana.' It is hardy down to 10°F once it is established. The fruit is said to make excellent brined olives. The second variety originates from Italy and is called 'Ascolana.' It is also hardy down to 10°F once it's established. The Ascolana olive is used to make a signature Italian snack called "olive all’ascolana" where the olives are pitted, stuffed with a seasoned meat, then battered, and fried!
I ordered them from One Green World, located in war-ravaged Portland, Oregon.
I haven't been able to devote any serious studying of the dansk sprog for the last three years or so, as I have been extremely (too) busy with my pain treatment clinic.
Well, as of two and a half hours ago, I am officially retired!
One of my big priorities, now, is to become functional and literate in Danish.
So, brace yourselves for a plethora of toots in Dane-glish and poorly constructed dansk. Undskyld.
Our weather forecast from the National Weather Service:
"Showers and thunderstorms likely before 3pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 3pm and 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm."
likely,
possibly,
