The feather was still on the leaf so I took a picture with a US nickel (5 cent) coin to show how small the hummingbird feather is. San Jose, CA, May 2025.
@yazad3 The alt text didn't mention, so I'll add: The feather is about the same in length as the nickel's diameter, and is proportioned similarly to a full-sized bird's feathers. The feather's so-called "barbs" are *unbelievably* fine.
