    I don't need an agent, I need tools that respect my agency.

    And my goal with CSS is to write styles that cascade. The cascade is the point. It's how we collaborate with users (and respect their agency). Tools designed to somehow avoid the cascade are not offering me something I want.

    @mia 1,000,000% agree.
    Agent: noun
    1. A person acting on “behalf of” another person/group-a representative ✔️
    2. A person/thing that “takes an active role” or produces a specified effect-an instrument❌

    Agency: noun
    1. Business/org providing a particular service on “behalf of” another business, person, or group.
    "an advertising agency"❌
    2. action or intervention producing a particular effect✔️

    Personally want agent 1 for my autonomy & agency, not agent 2 a tool for capitalistic exploitation.

    @mia can you clarify what you mean by Tailwind being "designed to somehow avoid the cascade"? Its classes' styles cascade just like other classes'.

    *Not* setting up to try to argue you into liking Tailwind, and your larger statement stands regardless 👍

    @olets It's not possible to avoid the cascade in CSS, sure - but that's always part of the sales pitch for utility classes, the way I've heard it? 🤷🏻‍♀️

    @mia This is literally why we built Shadow DOM. CSS is great in the small, and encapsulation lets you get back to that more often, unlocking the joy of the system.
