May 24, 2024, 8:34 PM#Artists of Mastodon, I want to #commission (for $) 4 #character #portraits to go on the cover of my blue-collar space-opera WIP.
I've got descriptions for the 3 humans & 1 alien. I'd love to discover what they all really look like.
I'm looking for “realistic stylized painting” like you'd see on an old-fashioned movie poster.
EDIT:
Thanks all! I found my artist! ☺️☺️
@knbrindle @martincrownover You might want to give our own Dave Brasgalla a ping. He’d be perfect for this work, right up his alley. https://www.davidbrasgalla.art
May 25, 2024, 1:31 PMI LOVE David’s work. Honestly, he'd be my dream collaborator for my covers. I doubt I can afford his work, though 😔
@knbrindle @martincrownover You might be surprised but I don’t have direct insight. Perhaps @skaeth has thoughts, she hired Dave for her book covers I believe.
May 25, 2024, 2:34 PM@gedeonm @martincrownover @skaeth He would be my first choice for cover art for my first two books (fantasy duology: “A Memory of Blood and Magic” and “A Memory of War and Solace”). I actually reached out through his contact form a few months ago, but never heard back… I gather he’s a busy guy.
At the same time… I’m 9 months in to starting my therapy practice, so money is… tight 😅😭
