@henry Hey, thanks for this. I feel very aligned with your HTML-first, framework-free, load-fast approach but perhaps take it too far by usually avoiding tooling altogether to avoid adding complexity, so this gives some pointers about things that might be useful to try out.

@tomw thanks for reading, mate! i’ve spent some time in both that purist camp and the “tooling-for-everything” trenches; workin on sorting a good balance for everything haha.

@henry This is a wonderful resource and I very much appreciate the clarity. The only thing I might push back on (note, I have nowhere near your experience) is using media queries to handle smaller devices rather than embracing newer CSS functions like min, max, clamp and viewport units.

@bobmonsour if anything, I'd say they're not exclusive -- but the math to make fluid layout and type work is A. tricky lol, B. not always very readable and C. not as well-constrained and testable as min-width media querying. I'm certain there are solutions for that, but I haven't found enough failures in the media query approach to consider adopting and refining new solutions!

@henry Points taken...agree that text sizing can be a challenge and not at all intuitive when it comes to using clamp and vw, etc. And media queries certainly do work.
