there's a lot of games where you play characters who are homophobic or even bash gays or whatever, but i can't think of many that are quite as insidiously evil in their therapeutic angle as Persona 4

i think the thing about Persona 4 that makes it feel like one of the most homophobic games i've ever played is that unlike other homophobic games which may have quite a lot of incidental homophobia, in Persona 4 you spent about 2 dedicated hours going on a mindscape journey to cure a teenager of his homosexuality so he'll be straight, which is like... genuinely really sickening to think too much about lol

i looked into it and the atproto dev crew basically has an occasionally video call where they fart around about ideas of how you could have "protected data" on atproto but its not going anywhere because nobody has a good idea of how to do it robustly that wouldn't either damage atproto's strong definition or cause breaking changes. they painted themselves into a corner and now meet up occasionally to ask if the paint disappeared lol.

its always really funny to me when popular bluesky posters talk about how they think its stupid bluesky is doing this or that instead of implementing private accounts on the protocol which very loudly and clearly states it is meant to be a publicly viewable information record.
