Communities have to get to know *you* too & it can be a record scratch. You think you've shared a beige flag w/a chill tone? Think again 😂 It could be fan community baggage OR just weird one-off miscommunication, but being resilient & persistent usually pays off (unless you start feeling the whole vibe is toxic, which has happened to me before too, so at that point I've noped out of that community to find other ones) 🧵 2/2
I think the best advice I've gotten (& given) is to encourage & embrace the lurk. To lurk is to learn!

I love libraries - am a librarian - but my whole thing isn't really steeped in librarianship. My true heart is in monstrousness, technology, and having a sense of humor, so this felt right 🥂

Is it also weird I wanted Butcher to release the virus, or better: for Kimiko to go on a spree to rid supes of their powers? I would've enjoyed an interesting redemption arc... It was so satisfying to see Homelander try and fail to fly or laser eyes ppl.

My darling babe Tavish crossed the rainbow bridge today. He had heart disease but this was sudden heart failure. He was a rescue, estimated 3-4 years old when we adopted him in 2016.

Through a news sources assignment, I found the Weekly World News archives over on archive.org. I'm hit with inspiration to design my website in this style! Right now it's a traditional "reputable newspaper" style that I really like, but going full camp/culty weekly world news style is 🤌
Where to find the time?! Getting 2 new dogs is hard 😅 I walk them in the morning & night. I haven't had a drink in almost 2 wks so I can be vigilant they're safe, which is probably the most stressful thing 🫠
