It has recently occurred to me that as horrified as I am by the use of Meta glasses by people who are taking pictures one does not wish to be taken they could in fact be very useful for recording ice agents.
After all no one really looks at an older woman wearing ugly glasses.
I requested something that would tap down a panic attack. Her first suggestion was Benadryl. I have glaucoma and cannot take Benadryl. Her second was a beta blocker.
I have seasonal allergy asthma. Nope.
The unspoken word in the room with Xanax.
I have never abused drugs. I’ve never abused alcohol. There is nothing in my medical records that would say no you can’t do that.
But somehow taking a Xanax once a year could lead me into becoming a screaming junkie.
#today
Wrapping my head around yesterday‘s follow up doctor appointment. Once or twice a year, I have severe panic attacks. Now that I am in my late 60s I am aware of the fact that panic attack symptoms are the same as heart attack symptoms in women my age. So I spent a lovely 12 hours in the ER.
So talking with the doctor yesterday I requested something that I could take that would alleviate panic symptoms to avoid unnecessary emergency room trips in the future.

Not Tim Curry, too. What’s it remove cultural icon week or something?
That’s incredibly hard for anyone who is/has become disabled. It took us a LONG time to get her to accept the wheelchair, now she is again ashamed to use it. You made her feel like she was “less than” and it is NEVER acceptable to make a person who is less able feel that way. By calling us saints you made it clear that you thought she is a burden.
She is not. She is my mom and an amazing person. Every moment we have her with us is a blessing.
Do better. /end
#today contemplating #lastnight .
Dear person who meant well but needs to know they were offensive.
My mom, 94, is visiting. While we were transferring her from the wheelchair to the car you decided to go on about how we were “saints” .
Ouch.
First off we are delighted she can visit us and that we can take her to dinner. Second, she heard every word you said and felt humiliated.
Imagine having been active in every sense and becoming dependent on, much to your own horror, other people. 1/
#today baked muffins with the last of the previous year’s raspberries.
Still too cold to put in tender garden plants so they have to live under the grow lights for a few more days. Small things keep me sane these days.
The idea that they indicted #comey for posting a pic of #8647 is insane.
More than obvious none of them spent time in food service.
Also a little concerned about wearing my 86 47 tshirt.
#today I had a call with my oldest who lives outside of D.C. regarding traveling up here in the event the mad king decides to go nuclear.
Like the school drills I never wanted this conversation. But here we are planning for nightmares.
Why is everyone new posting bluesky links?
I caught a brief whiff of decay and sulfur and then heard #dickcheney had passed and realized it was hell welcoming that devil home.
Ooof long phone chat with mom . At 94 she’s horrified but still in a here’s what can work frame of mind. I truly wish I’d been blessed with her optimism and intellect. She believes in her heart the republic will continue and be stronger and more inclusive in another generation. IF we manage to survive to the next generation.
Like when I was a kid she told me, ‘do the work’.
Imagine having the money #ElonMusk has and rather than using it to help fix this world decides to continue throwing it on his Mars ego wank.
#NoBillionaires
He blustered and fussed and carried on about it but as we surveyed it last year he is out of luck. Mind you he’s the one with the ‘fuck your feelings’ sign so I’m not in the mood for compromise. He’d rip everything up and sell it given the chance.
And THIS is why I don’t believe in fantasies surrounding anarchy. Because there is always going to be that person who doesn’t give a flying shit about anyone else.

Just had an unpleasant encounter with the Trumpanzee neighbor behind me. He’s been cutting and clearing so before he had an accidentally on purpose ‘oops’ with one of my old growth oaks and cedars I went out and roped my property line. Grateful the surveyor used old school ring eye posts so it was easy. Trumpanzee is NOT happy as he had an eye on some trees. Told him I was very sorry but I had no intention of cutting down anything.

FYI when they say economic growth they aren’t talking about you.
#NoKings in Augusta had about 4000 folks, and an entire 8 MAGA supporters counter protesting.
So tell me if you’re a #doctor.
My mom, 93 admitted for left leg weakness. Good insurance so aaallllll the tests. Me not shocked, it’s her degenerative disc disease.
They let her go home IF she hired home health care ( hahaha I’ve tried doing that for her for 20 years. Literally.) and IF she scheduled PT.
She’s 93. She won’t comply she has never complied.
What do I do? Got no authority amd less money. Wheeeeee
So we have people getting disappeared off the street , royal families giving our leader luxury planes , some kind of high end bitcoin floating around the Oval Office , and folks dying for lack of medical care and hey hey hey looks like we are on the way to third world status.
So #Today we invited a good friend to dinner. We knew it was her birthday so we did simple gifts and a cake with candles . Nothing elaborate, we just have strong feelings about birthdays.
And then there were tears and I couldn’t even because I had no idea that nobody in forever had done that and I didn’t know.
So if there are people you love get them a fucking cake on their birthday.
