    Andy Burnham: change course or fail - GND Rising

    This summer has shown us what the climate crisis looks like.

    Heatwaves have claimed lives. Drought is threatening crops. Wildfires have destroyed homes and land. Across the country, ordinarily people are paying the price for a crisis they didn't create.

    Andy Burnham has been Prime Minister for nearly a month. Instead of treating this moment with urgency, his government has been silent. And right now, there are rumours that there could be approval of new drilling in the North Sea.

    We know that expanding oil and gas won't protect us from the next heatwave, that it won't stop droughts or wildfires and it will only result in more climate breakdown.

    We're demanding Andy Burnham to change course before it's too late: will you add your name?

    When Starmer’s Labour u-turned on its climate pledge of investing £28bn into the green economy in 2024, it was Andy Burnham who pushed back. He called for Labour to “stick to its guns”, and defended the pledge as an “investment in the future and new industry".

    So where is that same energy now he’s in No.10? Will Burnham protect our future and deliver bold climate action? We must act now, before it’s too late.

    yes, add my name

    @PabloMartini
    He's in the pocket of many puppet masters all demanding different things and you can bet that the number that actually benefit the environment exactly matches the square root of fuck all
    Time to face facts
    The rich control the governments of this planet and they're happy to let the rest of us burn or starve if we don't get some kind of plague.
    We're in the second dark ages and we need to work together ourselves to survive
