A while back I made it halfway through a recent movie download before I realized it was recorded with a camcorder inside a movie theater. Camrip tech has gotten a lot better in the last couple decades. The visuals were great, but I kept hearing people cough and eat popcorn around me.

(I had headphones on. Unclear whether they captured it binaural style on purpose or if that's just how it came out.)

@nyquildotorg I went a long time without watching any camrips so when I finally did again I was absolutely impressed by where they're at now.  Especially if you manually adjust the audio a bit since that's where they tend to fall short

@kib now if I could just adjust the video a little bit to remove the website ads baked into it and periodic animated text saying Cinema City dot rip.

Photo of a dark scene in a camrip where you cannot miss the giant full screen text saying "Cinema City." In light sequences it is mostly ignorable, but this movie takes place primarily under water and inside of a whale. (Thankfully the whale kept eating bioluminescent jellyfish so we could actually see inside the whale.)
