Oct 19, 2026, 12:11 PMI went read-only mode on reddit years ago and I guess I'm doing the same for lobsters. It feels weird to say this but despite lobsters having better moderation practices on paper, HN is the better place for discussion even though there's a lot more techbro noise.

Some HN threads are trashfires but there's far more diversity than the streotype
I can't think of another site that retains that amount of quality relative to its size and centralization.
The reddit frontpage has become alternatingly facebook and mass facist propaganda... so maybe just... facebook.
