    iOS won’t let me run apps I vibe-coded for myself. Android will. I hope Apple develops a solution to this that doesn’t involve the App Store.
    I might have to get an Android device until then.

    @shac Why is a vibe-coded app special?
    You can install apps using Xcode with a free developer account, it will stay installed for 7 days before you have to re-sign it.
    (If you pay $99/yr. for a full account, it will stay installed for 365 days)

    If you want to keep it for longer once development is done, use something like AltStore or SideStore.

    @jjtech It’s not fundamentally different than building open source apps or writing my own, but it’s a new platform usage model of bespoke apps rapidly developed just for one person. People will get used to this and expect it. Updating every 7 days or buying a developer account probably won’t be sufficient.

    @shac@ioc.exchange can't you dev-sign your own apps on your own device for free with xcode? i thought you only had to pay to get on the app store
