Paying a tax for putting an irate post on your timeline. Look at this fluff.

What if using a laptop wasn't using a laptop but was instead firing a bazooka into a flock of tiny lambs! WHAT THEN

Common sentence constructions are used by people whom we could imagine saying "everyone is [using AI]" and "everyone is [firing bazookas into flocks of tiny lambs]"

???????????????? this just means language has obvious patterns that can apply even to relatively novel sentences, thought we got that already because of the LLMs

Extremely dislike the form of arguing about AI that I've been seeing going around that is classic, could be straight out of a research paper about it, outgroup moral reasoning.

"What if we imagine it wasn't a language model, and was instead MURDER"

wtf? What if I imagine "software engineering" was also murder??? What then????

Funny stuff about it: giving detailed breakdowns to the staff who all come in because they want to hear about it. I did not go into this life planning to be such a case study all the time but I accept my responsibility. Dodged becoming a teacher so many times and it keeps finding me. 😭

Bad stuff about a severe adverse reaction to medication: everything. 0/10 one of the worst experiences of my life

HOWEVER

Good stuff about a severe adverse reaction to medication: medical staff dealing with the aftermath are so horrified about it and I feel like they're really nice to me

A lot of reasons I became a psychologist in here. And a lot of reasons deficit thinking about human minds and abilities is something I find so damaging and unacceptable.

"Belonging, having something to do that matters, feeling useful, being understood and having people who are interested in you are not simply rewards for becoming well. They are often part of how we become well."

Uproar HAS been effective at drawing scrutiny to this before. People do not want this and are not ok with this

See old article here, they've restarted this:

This is despicable and I'm burning University of Southern Denmark into my memory on this forever.

The fact that this was approved by a university ethics board is something I wish I could slam in the face of every asshole here on mastodon who tried to drive me off the platform because I posted an invitation to participate in an anonymized survey once

I opened up my second book proposal this morning 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm unstoppable

Yet another morning where my hands don't hurt this is MARVELOUS

the whole, THE WHOLLLLLLE time I've done public-facing work in tech it's been with all this but things are getting betterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Y'all honestly have no idea what I'm about to be capable of if my medication really is working (seems like it is) and all this pain could go away (seems like it can)

You really do just have to not give up

This is the happiest day I've had in four months and in the top ten for the past two years.

I held this possibility in my head still but damn it did not seem likely. The possible futures have really changed today. 😭

Maybe once in a while things really can be better than they tell you

No one thought we would get this damn

(Except I thought it was a possibility and pushed for it)
