I mean. What. The. Fuck??

The frustrating part of Diablo II is that the normal difficulty is just a nuisance: there's nothing to gain, and I didn't find a single unique item; most of my gear is from Act I. That's just sad: for those who can't meet the hefty time investment to level a char to 60+ (which in itself is quite boring without a friend and some beers), the game somehow doesn't feel as amazing as it did when it was brand new.

Fuck the part where I have to login to play an offline character though.

Mephisto's butt was kicked fairly quickly; I'm glad to leave that jungle maze behind and descend into the very depths of hell. Act IV is quite short; but upon arriving in Diablo's inner sanctum, he did kick my butt this time 3 times because of my squishiness.

The updated cinematics are... fine? Some models look odd. Subtitling [eerie music] wasn't quite needed...

So I finished Diablo II but not the expansion. Not sure whether I will this time; felt boring this time because of offline solo?

I'm a day late and really tired 'cos I just got home from PRGE last night, but that's not gonna stop me from celebrating my friend Scott Murphy's birthday. Come join me and play the Space Quest III 3D remake with me!

We're halfway October: I'll finish Diablo II:R, then perhaps Belmont's Curse and a few random other ones before it's 2027. I hope Mina the Hollower will score big this year. I always lag behind a bit in recent releases.

Damn I forgot how much I hate those little flayer bastards in Act III. I made it to Lower Kurast today with two of the three Khalid's artifacts; but half the time I took a wrong turn and had to stumble around on the map.

This game does firmly feel like a 2000 game; the randomly generated maps and the back-and-forth going combined with clumsy item management (made worse on console) gets tiresome. I admit I'm in a rush as normal is not as interesting as nightmare/hell so that does reduce the fun.

My daughters school-provided Chromebook is crashing every time I open Chrome. It is used strictly for schoolwork and nothing else.

Go to their help desk to submit a ticket to get it fixed. They say to use her email to log in to submit the ticket. I do that and they say "We are sending you an email to set up your password." No email comes in because her student email DOES NOT RECEIVE EXTERNAL EMAILS!!!!!! I'm gonna crash out today.

Idk if it's the drivers or the way games implement this, but once v-sync is off, everything suddenly runs just fine and games no longer crash.

My partner bought a new laptop earlier this year. Despite it having an Nvidia 50-something built in, games wouldn't run very well and we couldn't figure out why.

They would run fine for a couple of minutes, but then freeze or crash. Every single game was like this, so I thought maybe it's the drivers, but after several updates it remained problematic.

So, quite infuriating, but I think we found a solution! Turns out the combination of the 240 hz display and "v-sync" was responsible.
