    Decades of BS claims around #password and #security in IT made it so that when a regular person is presented with actually save password (length, the ONLY strength quality of a password is it's length), then they view it as "funny".

    IT often times positions itself as "the reason discipline" and "the correct one" while we do totally hurtful nonsense like this. All. The. Effing. Time.

    I'm happy to show anyone who still thinks that `L3tm31n!` like passwords are good passwords the actual math behind it.

    You might weep. And change your passwords.

    @MichalBryxi same experience here. My passwords are normally 32+ characters long. People find that weird, even when I tell them that a copy/paste from a password manager of a short password is exactly the same effort as for a long password. 🤪

    Worst with long passwords is when forms accept them but in the backend cut them off without telling you. When you try to log back in, your password will not work and you wonder why. 😡
