Do you buy things advertised directly on social media platforms?

I'm happy to show anyone who still thinks that `L3tm31n!` like passwords are good passwords the actual math behind it.

You might weep. And change your passwords.

IT often times positions itself as "the reason discipline" and "the correct one" while we do totally hurtful nonsense like this. All. The. Effing. Time.

Decades of BS claims around #password and #security in IT made it so that when a regular person is presented with actually save password (length, the ONLY strength quality of a password is it's length), then they view it as "funny".

Using big corp #LLMs for #OpenSource development, right now, while the #AI development and running is paid for by VC money, is the biggest corporation giveaway to free software. Ever.

Was talking to a friend yesterday who still has #facebook. Apparently she gets 4 #ads to one intentional follow post. That’s … bonkers.

In my country of origin the cold water tap is:

🖕QR code generat…ehm…kidnappers. Do not ever use those services. There will eventually be a QR code out there in the wild that will be broken either because you eventually refused to pay a ransom for “resolving a link” or the service just ceased to exist.
You know what has worked, will work and *should* be super easy to do? (sub)domains. They are yours to keep. Forever.

Hate me for using LLMs, but the alternative in everyday (waves hand at everything IT) is so shit that I simply can’t.
Instagram post with multiple pages containing recipe for a-thing I want to try. Native Instagram app doesn’t allow copying text out. Well screenshots and LLM it is to extract text from images. And another one to stitch them together and cleanup.
It can be done by hand, it is possible, but why deal with this 💩💩💩 by hand?

#LiquidGlass was the best thing that happened to UI design in last decade.

- Why is there this one pink lanyard next to the black ones?
- No reason. You can have it if you want…

#EmberFest 2026 and is about to start 🚀

Self checkout. Person of a poor eyesight tries to desperately find a QR code to scan. At a very visible, prominent, in-your-face place is an ad for Minecraft. And guess like what a Minecraft zombie looks like to non-nerdy person? Yep. Did not scan either.

I kinda love visiting my family. To get smacked, face first, into the million tiny hindrances IT and capitalism brings into our life.
A little 🧵

After a year or so with #iPhone I tried to setup new #Xiaomi #Android phone for my mum and … the hell? Like this is now 100% scam/advert delivery platform. Everything there is made so that the user clicks on more ads, installs more crapware. Unapologetically.

Whoever in #Alpro made this improvement, please give them a raise 🤗
Instead of gluing the outer cardboard onto the inner plastic container, it now sits securely in place thanks to the little groove at the bottom. Le mua.

Can we like. Finally admit that login / account / data “ownership” is not something that every app has to have? That they are actually annoying? That people don’t necessarily want any of those?

What … and I can’t stress this enough … the actual fuck? What time is mid-day? Is it 12:00? 12:30? The middle of my day as an early bird is at 11:00 and for my mum doing night shifts is 21:00. And I’m quite sure there will be a culture where it literally means “when the sun is the highest”.

We invented numbers to represent exact things. We have words to be vague AF. #GoogleMaps is a trash product and I really hope the last valid use-case: opening times will be replaced.

People that tell me that as a #vegan I’m restricting myself too much, but keep ordering the same five meals when they go out make smirk in my vegan superiority… 🙄
