The former Phoenix Assurance Building on St Vincent Street in central Glasgow. Designed by Alex D. Hislop and constructed in 1912, it was one of the first American-influenced Modern Classical style mini-skyscraper in the city. The same style was quickly adopted by other financial institutions, including the nearby Bank of Scotland building designed by James Miller in the mid-1920s.
