@Mellivora I mean, if complaining on the internet didn't make everyone set your priorities as theirs, what else can you do but what worked so well in the last election?

@spiegelmama doesn't help people think we can just vote to solve our problems. Le sigh.

@Mellivora @spiegelmama I don't know about you, but I don't recall meeting anyone who thought *just* voting, without doing anything else, would solve all our problems.

I have, however, seen many online proclaiming that voting won't do *anything* to solve our problems. Especially when said at election time, that reflects either despair or a political suppression operation. Either way, I won't tolerate attempts to disarm us of one of the most important of the many weapons we have against fascism.

@JMarkOckerbloom I have actually met someone who thought that. So there are people like that out there who think voting these people out works when the problem is much deeper and more ingrained. (๑•﹏•) @spiegelmama

@Mellivora @spiegelmama Well, voting people out *does* work to stop certain problems-- just ask the voters in Hungary and Brazil, for instance. It's neither a *complete* solution, nor a one-and-done thing-- as we again see in Brazil. But just like stopping the bleeding is a crucial first step in healing an injury, getting abusers out of office is a crucial first step in reversing the effects of their abuse.
