My wife sent me that video, finally someone who is teaching the secret about modern music (ie. music since the 1700's or so). It's a scale that's uniform distances on a logarithmic scale for frequency (that is, every note is 2^(1/12) ~ 1.05946 times the frequency of the previous one).
The piano keyboard absolutely shatters the symmetry... You can get that symmetry back by creating a uniform keyboard:
