    LOL my app for CW Innovations ICR class was denied because I don't have >30W rig?

    Maybe QRP won't work but 20W should be plenty. Extra 10W barely moves the needle.

    Leaves me with a negative feeling abt them, TBH. Heard good things but the gatekeeping is a complete turnoff. 3 months on waitlist just to "apply" and then this rejection?

    I've no plans for a more powerful radio anytime soon..I use CW to get the most out of my 20W so that I don't NEED more!

    I guess I'll keep self-teaching, thanks.

    @KD3BTG I've been told that the most effective way to learn is with LCWO. lcwo.net/

    Anyone who dictates how much power you're required to use as a minimum is unaware of the legal obligations associated with holding an amateur radio licence, in that you should use the least amount of power required to make a contact.

    There's also plenty of licence classes that don't permit 30 Watts, let alone more.

    @vk6flab
    The CW Innov. class is more advanced than lcwo...one prereq. is already knowing the 40 basic chars and making reg. CW QSOs OTA. It's meant to help improve char. recognition and head copy.

    They can't actually enforce a minimum wattage and I guess I could have just lied and said I have a 100W rig, but I do not like to be dishonest.
