    @kr1st still ~$2,500 here in the UK for an Optima. That includes our 20% equivalent of sales tax. But I’d be a lot more tempted at $1,500!

    @M5OTA Wow, that's expensive! I pay 6% sales tax so that would make the final price $1590. I saw that at Wimo it's also $2250. Yikes!

    @kr1st @M5OTA It’s always way cheaper on that side of the pond.

    hamshop.nl currently lists the Optima at €1,795—that works out to $2,021. You can claim a €200 cashback on that, bringing the effective price down to $1,796.

    It’s just that I’m already well equipped with an FT-991A and an FTdx10, and I really couldn't get away with telling "Parliament" that I wanted to add this one to the shack. 😜

    @PC1I @M5OTA Rebates are such a terrible scam. The practice of having to jump through hoops to get some of your own money back should be outlawed.

    "Parliament" can be a tough negotiator when it comes to matters of the hobby. 😄
