    This thought comes with the memory of talking with my kid about a show they liked and I said we'd have to tape it.

    "Why? Is it broken?"

    "No it's... It means 'to record' it."

    "But why tape?"

    (Cue one drawn out discussion about the 80s-00s later...)

    Another time at a coffee shop the barista mentioned one of my favorite local acts would be playing there later that week. "I'll be there with bells on."

    "Why would you do that?"

    "Huh?"

    "Why are you wearing bells to a music performance?"
