The fact that the American negotiators even *tried* to restrict Canada's ability to strike deals with other countries and thus diversify away from the US shows that they understand how badly they have already miscalculated and how terrified they are of losing further trade. They are so transparently stupid. They fucked around and found out.
"Hmm... our previous bullying tactics backfired. How can we fix this this? I know! Why don't we try some bullying tactics?"
Aug 23, 2026, 12:30 PM@joat There's no trade deal with the US that can be trusted to endure. It doesn't matter how much effort they put into it. If (sorry, I mean when) the US decides not to respect it then the whole exercise is a waste of time.
