Walking home a couple hours ago, I saw someone get hit by a car crossing Gretzky drive southbound at 118 ave. They're alright but their bike is messed.
Technically the driver was at fault - they had a red light, the person they hit was crossing on a walk light, the driver didn't fully stop at the red and did the classic turn right / look left to merge.
But even more at fault was all the architects and engineers involved in designing and approving the pony wall at the northwest corner of that intersection - it means drivers turning right and pedestrians crossing from that corner can't see each other until the very last second.
If anyone isn't paying perfect attention - and people make small errors of attention all the time - it's incredibly dangerous.
That thing never should have been built, and it needs tearing down right away.
