You may want to check with your insurance company on that.
I don't pretend to know the intricacies of the legal world but 'tampering' with safety systems would likely be frowned upon/denial of claims etc.
Is the modem a 'safety system'? Would a lawyer find a way to define it that way when told to by said insurance companies?
The counter point is, again by general scuttlebutt not fact, there isn't a 'modem' listed on any part list for vehicles. Is it 'missing' if it was never sold to you? 😜

It will be an interesting competition between a modder community and a likely fairly small number of vehicles produced.
The DIN dashboard is my hill to cry on.
It's an established GLOBAL standard, putting in even an empty space to fit it would cost basically zero. Same for space for speakers in the doors/behind the seat etc.

In this picture it is the squarish shape behind the cell phone mount (which is on a rail so you can slide it over).
@pixelpusher220 @KrajciTom @jcrabapple @glasspusher @kevinrns @Stef oh and it seems that there are preexisting holes in the dash near the A pillars for 3.5in speakers and larger ones in the doors. Nothing I've read indicates a pre wired harness so I am just going to let an audio shop take care of installation.
