White House press secretary tenure will continue to halve until Zeno's paradox is refuted

arrived!

USPS obv using their new "special 2026 ballot routing algorithm" to get this package to me

going in for an MRI on a sports injury and the phone call questions included "are you oxygen dependent" and I really REALLY had to refrain from responding "as a member of the kingdom Animalia, yes"

(I answered no to just make the tired sounding woman's life as easy as I could)

(i get why third party authors want to sell to that market, and I support the hopefully unionized WotC employees who are good people, but there are so. many. other. rpg. systems. that you could make and promote products for...)

Every time i see a post about a new third-party setting for 5e I feel like someone is asking me to go pick up some croissants from that quirky little bakery down the road: Starbucks.

There's better bread from better bakeries, love. Trust me.

Update: the large classroom style pull down map I installed continues to be a win. I quiz my kids on geography & current events using it.

(I also make them practice on apps. Current fav is Geotrainer - not sponsored, just a user - since it's good and has fam sharing: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/geotrainer-geography-map-quiz/id527868789 )

@jc00ke you kindly just answered an SSH question I had via a year old post on the 1Password forums just now. I read it and though "huh this user knows what they are doing" and then scrolled up and smiled when I saw your name there.

Woke up from a long dream about writing a very specific code snippet to solve a very tricky problem. Sleep tracking reported "best sleep in a long time".

Late night work. Currently playing:

If we invented teleportation it WOULD be a better option than air travel. It would NOT be superior to "fun family road trip" or "romantic train ride" & you'd scoff if I claimed it was. And if 10% of the time it ended in "transporter accidents" you'd understand pushback to being forced to use it.

Replacing my HVAC drainage with clear PVC so I can monitor biofilm buildup (biofilm sludge has taken the system off line due to pump clog). Feels like I just discovered transparent aluminum in Star Trek The Voyage Home.

crawling into bed last night and I got an alert about a leak. time from alarm to fix was about 1 minute. again, leak sensors are one of the best cheap-IoT-devices I've installed.

Cat feeder fixed 😸

Enjoyed a one shot of Bully Pulpit's "Cowboys with Big Hearts." Did not use the phrase "you're my huckleberry" but did channel a lot of dying-doc-holiday in my character.

Happy with beets.io and my music library structure now but it does OCCASIONALLY lead to nonsense like this

tweaked beets.io to finally organize my rock & pop genre into decade subfolders (I have a data file that can override musicbrainz based values I don't like. So Pulp is a 90s band even though it has a couple 80s releases.
