I used to volunteer at (& very, very briefly was an executive director of) a nonprofit whose mission was to help girls & trans youth get into programming.

An 18-year-old unaccompanied refugee from Egypt is in a very serious condition, having already undergone surgery in the chest area, and is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of Sotiria Hospital. He was attacked on Monday night outside his school in the Metaxourgeio area by a group of young people. The assailants stabbed the 18-year-old in the back with a knife and then fled. “They stabbed me in the back, there were about 20 people, they were cursing me, I had never seen them before,” he said. The Hellenic Police confirmed the attack and announced that the perpetrator who stabbed the 18-year-old has been identified but has not been arrested, while the process of identifying the remaining attackers is underway. There are fears of a #racist coordinated attack, however the Police stated that they are not investigating a racist motive.

#Colombia: Thousands took to the streets in major cities to protest against the current far-right government. The demonstrations, led by former president Gustavo Petro, were fueled by fears over government policies affecting rights and access to services.

Protesters fear a crackdown after the president signed a decree on Tuesday to regulate protests and allow authorities greater leeway in the use of force in cases of vandalism or road blockades.
