THE PEOPLES WANT: REVOLUTIONS OF OUR TIMES
    Monday October 19
    Comite social Centre-Sud / 1710 Beaudry
Doors 6:00pm | Event starts: 6:30pm | Food will be served

Our global generational experience of uprisings have not left the hearts of empires untouched. The encampments of the 2011 Occupy movement and the Student Intifada, street battles against police from Montreal to Minneapolis, land defense from Standing Rock to Unist’ot’en, each of these struggles in North America is tied to global waves of upheaval stretching from Cairo to Santiago, Jakarta to Gaza, Hong Kong to Khartoum. From this generational experience, we want to weave a fabric of transnational solidarity even as empires desperately project their violence globally.
The Peoples Want will be touring North America through the fall and winter to present the network and our manifesto Revolutions of Our Times, recently published in English by Haymarket Books. From the encounters between rebels from the global peripheries, fighters from the margins of North America, and dissidents from the centres of Empire, we hope to grow an internationalism of popular struggles beyond states suited to our turbulent times. We want to meet those transformed by revolt, politicized diaspora and exile communities, and all who want to build a common plan to hasten the fall of Empire.
