Electronics Flea Market #EFM aka #eFlea August 2026 after action #AAR
There was definitely fewer sellers today. Most in attendance were the flippers and the flea market sellers. With this weekend being California Extreme (CAX – the pinball/video game event in Santa Clara), Quakecon in Austin, and DEFCON in Vegas there were many folks out of town and at other events today.
That being said, there were still some interesting finds
- “Weird Stuff” had a ton of test equipment, a robot/autonomous vehicle,
- one of the few independent sellers also had a bunch of test equipment
- two individuals with a bunch of older vintage components, boards, and hardware for free. I scored two NEXT boards (see below), and my friend WEO scored a DEC IBV11-A QBus GPIB interface.
- The folks were there selling a ton of video cards, PC cases, and all sorts of gear.
- There was a Lisa sighting, which sold rather quickly for the going pricing
- A C64 and a bunch of software/accessories; with the C64 itself going quickly
I scored a
- retro, still in the box CRT/Terminal valet. Yep, this came home with me in hopes that Sony PVR will fit on it
- Asus 802.11AC for getting OpenWRT running on it
- A Frequency spectrum poster in a plexi frame, with a retro HP visitor’s sticker on the back
- AB1-3910 Portwel WADE-8015 202 Industrial Motherboard/processor setup planned for a 1U NAS upgrade. https://www.portwellboards.net/portwell/wade-8015
- two 10G Intel NICs
- Some SUN branded microphones
- a small “getting into programming” kit from Sunfounder that includes a Genuino
- Pyle PSPL05R sound meter (for when that particular neighbor is blaring his car stereo)
- My friend from the north bay had another trash can Mac pro. This one is working, with a 2.7Ghz proc & 64GB RAM & the D700 6GB video card! Yea, I had to spend the last of the money from selling that fancy LED keyboard for it. Now to migrate my iTunes and iPod’s from the old cheese grater Mac Pro to this one…
- Found a ATX power supply tester (that I removed from my aliexpress just now)
- brand new NAS case with controller card and cables
- two new old stock (NOS) Taiko VHS video heads
- a 30GB “Falcon Rescue Drive”, USB3 in stunning red from Falcon Northwest for one of their computers
- Ham radio technician study guidebook (for free). One of these days I’ll study and take the test.
- A Drawer Plastic Storage Cabinet, with components and (of course) missing one drawer
- two looks like daughter boards from Next computers, with the marking 1-623-854-12 and A-1296-367-A on the board. Has headphone, 2x RCA, microphone, keyboard, and a 19 pin long port that I’m unable to read the label for. Some research has this as the N4000 SoundBoard (Revision: 1-623-854-12) or a MegaPixel Display Analog Board N4000 (Revision: 1-623-855-12). Of course there were @tubetime and a @DevinsBench sightings
