The fog has burned off, but there's still plenty of cloud cover, plus a slight chilly breeze rattling dry leaves and half-bare branches. Perfect weather for strong black tea with buttered toast.
There's even rain in the forecast. I am wishing, waiting, hoping.
@lilithsaintcrow Ugh, that reminds me: I need to water the tree one more time before I bring the hose in.
@lilithsaintcrow You want rain? Lolsob, just come visit the UK right now …!
@cstross We are having the hottest, driest October ever, which is not nearly so nice as it sounds. We could take SO MUCH rain right now…
@lilithsaintcrow trust me, when the Met Office issues amber warnings of wind for Scotland, you do not want that. (This storm is gusting into low-end hurricane territory and coming in off the North Atlantic, only the air's cold, so it doesn't hold as much water.)
@cstross Oh goodness. That’s weather making the North Atlantic convoys look like a pleasure trip.
@lilithsaintcrow I wanted to go to the pub tonight to meet up with friends I haven’t seen in a couple of months … not gonna happen in this!
@cstross Yeah, “involuntary Mary Poppins travel” is one of those concepts better in fiction than in real life.
