Other careers available, these were just the ones that pleased me at this moment

Ah heck, a spelling error. Well, it'll live there I guess
baconandcoconutbaconandcoconut@freeradical.zoneOct 21, 2026, 8:33 PM@sinituulia Are the animals supposed to be Chilean?
- Sini Tuuliasinituulia@eldritch.cafeOct 22, 2026, 9:58 AM
@baconandcoconut I suppose if they're in Chile, they are? I'd have to go to Sweden or Norway for the nearest mountain, and would probably have to have Swedish or Norwegian animals.

When it comes to dogs, I've always enviseaged myself in the Scottish Highlands. Shame that I found out that I am absolutely a cat person, but I will accept the challenge of teaching them to herd sheep.- baconandcoconutbaconandcoconut@freeradical.zoneOct 23, 2026, 12:53 AM
@nachtet @sinituulia I'm happy when our cat swats something back at us once in an obvious attempt to provide "enrichment" for the humans. Fetch is not going to happen.
Oct 21, 2026, 7:57 PM@sinituulia Always wanted to do the boat thing... 😁

@jwcph It seems like it would be quite satisfying, if properly protected and equipped
Process ParsnipProcessParsnip@mastodon.ieOct 21, 2026, 8:11 PMDoing building demolition looks so fun. The tree-trimming service here has a giant claw thing they use to put trunks in their truck to haul away, and it looks like the best claw game ever.
Do they put the giant boats on land before they take them apart?
- baconandcoconutbaconandcoconut@freeradical.zoneOct 21, 2026, 8:34 PM
@ProcessParsnip @sinituulia @jwcph Building demo is great but can be real rough on your body!
- Sini Tuuliasinituulia@eldritch.cafeOct 22, 2026, 10:00 AM
@ProcessParsnip @jwcph Some part of the boat demolition can be done off shore while it still floats if it floats, but in order to take apart the body itself, they do beach them or even drag them out to dry dock, I believe?
The boats, they are... Very big sometimes.

Oct 21, 2026, 8:35 PM@sinituulia uh-oh 👀 @lavaeolus
Can a society of archivists b sustainable?
Henrik Schönemannlavaeolus@fedihum.orgOct 21, 2026, 9:08 PM@seufz hmm, as sustainable or unsustainable as every society made up of humans 🤷
There is no inherent good with "archivists", it can easily slip into bad.- Oct 21, 2026, 9:14 PM
@lavaeolus Interesting! That was not the reply I expected, but I guess that’s why I appreciate you so much :)
(besides you’re obviously correct) @sinituulia
Paul_IPv6paul_ipv6@infosec.exchangeOct 21, 2026, 8:42 PMi'll be making dulcimers and banjos from abandoned tech so that they finally have some chance to spark real joy from their use.
Wanjamuvlon@hachyderm.ioOct 22, 2026, 10:17 AM@sinituulia I freaking love power tools! Give me a rattle gun and a big ol honking pile of metal and I'll remove every screw and bolt with glee!!
