    I decided I wanted to do a bunch of feminism/gender study reading, and I decided I'd start off with backwards shit before moving onto decent shit. So (without paying anything for it) I'm reading Gender-Critical Feminism by Holly Lawford-Smith.

    Wow... this shit is awful. lol. I do like that it tells on itself in the first chapter. It starts off by talking about a conservative approach to feminism and complaining about intersectionality.

    @Gwendolyn
    Why did you decide to read the "bad" ones? What were you hoping to find? What's your goal in subjecting yourself to that?

    (I'm genuinely interested, mostly because i haven't figured out why I do it)

    @EndlessMason I'm curious, and I like understanding underlying reasons why people think what they think. People often say something seemingly unrelated to what they actually feel. More writing, means more opportunities to be able to read between the lines. Actions speak louder than words. The choice of what someone talks about can mean more than the words they actually write.

    I grew up a hardcore right wing conservative Christian. It was me questioning and exposing myself to how other people thought that got me out of that hole. So, to me... knowledge just makes me a better, more informed person, especially when it's something that I want to combat. It's kind of a "know your enemy" angle.

    Plus... I dunno... I'm kind of a dumbass who loves a fight. Probably why I sometimes wander back to X/Twitter to see what kind of shit is going on in that cesspool.
