    @jadehopepunk This looks awesome... even if I probably not fully understand all points because of not being familiar with LoRes.

    Allowing usage and dessimation of books via "capilarity" is what we really believe is essential.

    It seems what you have done allows to do that in a very user friendly manner.

    I would definitly recommend to make a video show casing all the benefits - from a user perspective - of what you done!

    @jadehopepunk @kiwix
    I love Kiwix and have a recent copy of wikipedia and gutenberg and a few other smaller books.
    I went to look at rpi5 - ~$500CAD! Whoa. I know it's a much different device now, but I bought the OG ones for ~$35...
    So that's not happening. I have several used laptops that were given to me. Couldn't I use one of them? It would give me a battery and a lot more storage. I've just now heard of P2Panda.

    Howdy,
    as it happens, I'm one of the testers of the #LoResMesh project and I'm testing it out on a Pi 2 B!
    Setup is going well but I'm using the much older 'bookworm' version of the OS which has been causing problems with a bunch of other applications, so I want to upgrade before continuing the tests. I can update you once that's done and I'm back onto testing

    Also to be clear there are much easier ways to run Kiwix than this. Normally, the kiwix webserver ships as a C++ package on linux, and is fully self contained.

    For LoRes, not only am I wrapping that in a rust binary (probably not adding a lot of resource use), but I'm then running that inside Docker.

    You certainly don't need to do that if you have no other servers to connect to. But if you do happen to have a server that runs it (I've only tested it on Pi 4 and above, Gerkin is on the bleeding edge there with a Pi 2B) then it does mean you can also run plenty of other web apps alongside it with Co-op Cloud.
