Elon Musk now claims it is Trump who has restricted Ukraine's use of Musk's satellite internet.

If that is true, a NATO partner is now preventing Ukraine from leveraging a key technology against the Russian invasion.

Please ask Secretary General Mark Rutte, if a NATO partner can side with the enemy and still remain a NATO partner.

    You want the truth?!

A European federation would instantly be a global superplayer on absolute eye level with the US, China & Russia.

Right now, Europe is an economic giant, but militarily and geopolitically a fragmented dwarf hanging on US security guarantees.

That's exactly what Elon Musk's Starlink throttling in Ukraine exposed: Europe watches helplessly as a single American tech billionaire and the US government single-handedly decide on the continent's defense.

@randahl not to mention there is a US president's signature on a little paper titled Budapest Memorandum

@randahl Musk point to a decision made by the US administration. It happens right after a call between Putin and Trump agreeing on a diesel deal and Trump threatening Ukraine and Zelenskyj.

Since we know Russia do not have excess diesel, and actually has export restrictions, I guess Putin does this to split the West. In return he gets some favors and dollars and has improved his capabilities to kill civilians and destroy energy infrastructure.

Ha! Funny to imply little whimpering Rutte would dare say anything bad about daddy, let alone openly questioning him!

Seems they are talking about two different things - Starlink and Starshield. I don't even know what the latter is, but the first is owned by Musk, and he doesn't claim otherwise.

Starshield is communications provided by US military using Starlink satellites.

AFAIK, Starlink has been velocity gated in Ukraine all along. Starshield wasn't. Till now.

I guess Musk could order Starlink engineers to limit Starshield in various ways, but then he would be in breech of contract with DoD, probably a bad move. This seems to be a DoD decision.

I trust Musk and Trump less than I can throw a medium-sized elephant.
They both do things only for themselves. This was a Fascist move: Do it and look how the world reacts. If necessary, limit the damage, blame someone else, or play dead.

Mark Rutte will just grin and demonstrate how not having a spine allows him to tickle Trump's tonsils with his tongue, from the backside.
